Kyrgyzstan lacks funding to purchase drugs for treatment of hemophilia
Hemophilia patients receive drugs only in emergency cases. Ilzat Gaparov, a representative of the Public Association of Hemophilia Patients, told deputies of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.
According to him, the allocated funding for the purchase of blood clotting factors is insufficient. It does not cover even a two-month need for drugs.
«Children with inhibitor hemophilia have not yet been provided with the necessary drugs for the year. The relevant authorities cite the fact that the Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund has not transferred money to Kyrgyzfarmatsiya, which in turn cannot purchase drugs. And adult patients with inhibitor hemophilia do not receive drugs at all, since the National Center of Oncology and Hematology has reduced funding for adult patients,» Ilzat Gaparov told.
