Linear accelerators still not used to treat cancer patients
Linear accelerators purchased in 2019 are still not used to treat cancer patients. MP Aisuluu Mamashova said at parliamentary hearings on the draft republican budget for 2025.
In 2016, Pomogat Legko Public Foundation announced a nationwide fundraiser to purchase modern radiation equipment for the treatment of cancer patients. In 2017, the fundraiser was closed, since Centerra Gold allocated $10 million. The tender was canceled several times for various reasons, and only in February 2019 the end of the competition was announced.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the equipment was delivered to the country only in October 2020. But it has not yet been used.
Aisuluu Mamashova once again appealed to the Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev with a request to consider the suitability of the director of the National Center of Oncology and Hematology Baktygul Sultangazieva for the position she holds.
