Answering a question from 24.kg news agency about the future of memorial plaques installed in memory of the people killed in the April 7, 2010 events, acting Mayor of Bishkek Balbak Tulobaev compared this part of the fence with the Berlin Wall and confirmed that the City Hall planned to preserve it.

«We are not planning to demolish this part of the fence. Reinstallation of the memorial plaques is not planned either. They will remain intact, like a part of the demolished Berlin Wall. This is part of history,» he said.

According to the head of the city, the remaining part of the fence should be strong enough not to fall and collapse. «We will control this,» he told.
