WHO donated microscopes to parasitological laboratories of the Kyrgyz Republic. Press center of the Ministry of Health reported.

In 2019, the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision applied to the World Health Organization for support in providing with modern microscopes to improve laboratory diagnostics of parasitic diseases.

«Nine sets were received in November. They are currently being distributed among the parasitological laboratories of the Parasitic Diseases Center and the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision Service of the republic,» the ministry noted.

The Ministry of Health added that maintaining a stable epidemiological intestinal parasitosis situation among the population depends to a greater degree on high-quality laboratory diagnostics and timely treatment. According to statistical data, from 25,000 to 30,000 cases of invasions (infections) by helminths are registered in the republic annually.
