Kyrgyzstan loses 84 medical workers during pandemic

Kyrgyzstan has lost 84 medical workers during the pandemic. Deputy Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan, Madamin Karataev, announced at a parliamentary meeting at Ala-Archa state residence.

According to him, 41 families of the deceased doctors have applied for compensations.

«To date, we have paid 28 million soms to 28 families of medical workers. The rest of the applications are being considered,» Madamin Karataev said.

He noted that 135 million soms raised by Kyrgyzstanis to support the government in the fight against coronavirus infection were used for payments to doctors. «There are 6 million soms left,» the official added.
